Troy's a Speed-Typist

Here's another video I was finally able to upload. He's playing his Babysmash game.

More Videos

No new news, just videos I'm uploading. My stupid Windows Movie Maker is not being very friendly, so I'm trying my best to upload videos for you. It's turning out to be impossible. Oh well. This is what I got for now, though. It's probably the sweetest one of them all, anyway.

We're Pullin' Up & Cruisin'!!

OK - I've been trying to upload this darn video for about 5 hours now. This isn't the whole thing. It's missing a very, very sweet part where he's tearing up laughing. But, this does show the most important part, which is him pulling up. He's cruisin' all over the place now. He thinks he's hot stuff...which, in fact, he IS.

We are quite a big boy, now! We caught him doing it yesterday. What a great anniversary present.

Happy Valentine's Day!

So, Dan and I dropped T-Bone off at my parents at 11:15 this morning and jetted off to the movies. What a blessing that it wasn't packed nor were there very many kids. We saw 'Friday the 13th', my gift to Dan. Not that I didn't want to see or that I didn't enjoy it - we just never see things when they first come out. But, since we DID run off to see the Zombie re-make of 'Halloween' for me, it was only fair. It was GREAT! A bit gratuitous in it's sex and nudity...to say the least, but aren't ALL the 'Friday the 13th' episodes like that? We had soooo much fun watching it. I grew up on horror movies, thanks to my older brothers. I LOVE them. I've made it one of my "pilgrimages" to find movies I've yet to see that are actually scary. But, after I lost Ebed to such a violent accident, it's been difficult to watch gore and death. Of course, I slowly got to where I could watch again. But, alas, pregnancy and the journey into motherhood has changed me yet again. I can watch the prelude to the violence and I can watch the aftermath, but I can't watch the act. So, we had lots of fun with me curled up in my seat, prepped to cover my eyes up to avoid the "act". I've NEVER been that "girl" in the audience. Now I am. Strange, huh? Afterwards, we went to Spring Creek BBQ to catch a bite and then stopped by the 31 Flavors to get a snackity-snack-snack. I just loooove that Creole Cream Cheese with some chocolate sprinkles. Another gift from my son is my ability to have dairy products again - although the ability to gorge myself on ice cream and cheese cake isn't necessarily a good thing...

We're on the countdown for our second anniversary. It's just too cool. I know we'll have many, many, many more of these. I hope that we will be fortunate and blessed enough to both see our 40th just like both of our sets of parents are celebrating this year. What great examples they are! I'm looking forward to our night of super-cajun broiled crawdaddies and, perhaps, a 3D horror flick that I've been dying to see. I'm so excited. As much as I miss my T when weren't not together, it's really, really sweet to spend alone time with just Dan. We've always thoroughly enjoyed each other's company over anyone else (of course, Troy is in a different league than others) and I look forward to enjoying more of it.

Not Much New

So, I was emailing Dan's Aunt Lydia and I remembered that I have this blog! haha! Nothing much has happened this week. I did get an early birthday present from my mom and dad. It's a pretty sweet digital HD pocket video camera. That means that I can now post clear videos and send DVDs to those that want such things. I know those are boring to most, but I also know there are a few that find them as exciting as I do! hehehe
We are STILL working on our top two teeth. I can't believe they're just hanging out like that. Dan is still dealing with the horrors of parenthood, like bowel movements and the witnessing of them. I got over that a long time ago, but I guess when you're Mommy you don't have a choice and you just do what you gotta' do. All I know is that if this kid every questions my love for him, he's just going to have to hear these stories of what I've done for him and the gross stuff I've dealt with!

This coming Tuesday is out 2nd wedding anniversary, if you can believe it. Though, for me it seems like we've been married forever. I guess when you share a bank account and bills you tend to feel married already! Dan wants to go to the movies on Saturday or Friday to see Friday the 13th remake, but I think he's lost his mind. I know he's not going to want to go to the movies when everyone and their dog is there. Who knows, though. Maybe we can sucker Mom and Dad into watching T-Bone while we go...like it'll really be hard to get them to...

We took Valentine's pics yesterday at the house. Brace yourselves for Valentine's cards that are the cutest you've ever seen!! ...does that sound biased?? I've also discovered, as of yesterday, that T really enjoys one of my favorite movies "Follow That Bird". That was the first movie I ever remember seeing in the theater. Chad took me and I made us sit in the very front. I still love that movie! Now I'm going to have to go find it on DVD and watch it with him.

Well, that's all I can muster up for now.

Love to all!

Day 1 - Let's See How This Goes

So, I thought I might as well go ahead and start a blog for all those that ask me for updates and I never really know what to say or find the time to type out the email. And we ALL know there's NO way I'm picking up the phone and placing any calls - I will never like talking on the phone. :o)

So, there's just a tiny bit of news today. T's two top teeth are starting to push through. Thank God! I'm so glad that it looks like they're coming in at the same time. I don't like this process being dragged out. That's for my sanity and Troy's comfort. I'm just glad we don't ever remember cutting teeth. We're trying to move towards sippy cups instead of bottles as we are weaning off lots of things. Or, shall I say, MOMMY is weaning off things. Troy has decided over the last couple of days to start using certain parts of my anatomy as a teething ring. Let's just say that it's one of the few things he does that really isn't cute any way you look at it. I've been bitten on my toe, fingers, arms, shoulders, collarbone, belly. Nothing compares. Mommy is having a hard time dealing with weaning from nursing. It's something you cannot replace and something that no one else can share with your little one. I'll miss it more than he will - I'm sure. We're also going to start transitioning from our bed to the crib we finally got on Monday. Our original crib had been recalled right as we were going to start the transition. Of course. Now we have the new one and we're getting him warmed up to it. He's getting hang of the sippy cup now that I've found one that is actually good. It doesn't leak, the flow is slower, and the spout is completely flexible. Though, we do get lazy every once in a while and he wants me to hold it for him. I told him if he wants to be lazy and have me do everything for him, he's going to have to get a job.

He's really enjoying eating finger foods. He thinks he's a big boy. We started on Cheerio's, Gerber puffs, and apple wheels this week and he took to them immediately. I can tell you that this feeding thing with this child is quite a breeze. There is no "working" or "training" with him. He is a born eater. Just look at his parents! We're going to start on cheese and pasta, too. I know he's excited about it.

We're also starting the "Clinging to Mommy" stage, which I secretly love. Oops! Secret's out! I love seeing him reach out for me like that. It gets a little crazy when I'd like him to let me use the bathroom or use both my hands, but I also know not to take this for granted. There will be one day (hopefully very far away) that he will want me to just go away. Maybe he knows that his mommy loves him more than anyone ever can (until, of course, he takes the perfect woman for him as his wife that will love him to the ends of the earth). I hope so.

He's also proving to be quite brilliant. :o) When we finish changing his diaper, I put him up in the air, spin around twice, and then we fly towards the doorway. When we get there, I tell him to turn out the light. He puts out his fist and presses it into the bottom part of the light switch and turns it out. He gets excited, because he knows it's done something really cool. He also claps on command...at least at home. He's not much of a performer. We're working on blowing kisses and waving "bye-bye". He's waved twice, but since Mom and I screamed so loud when he did he's really scared to do it.

Anyway, this is as much as I'm willing to put out just now. I don't have any pics on my computer to put on here, so if I can edit later I'll add some. I need a SD card reader on this computer, darnit!

Love to all y'all!
