Well, we're starting to walk! Today at the studio, he was showing off for Julie's nieces Ro & Darby. He would pull up and then do a "look, Ma, no hands!" and stand there laughing. He walked three steps to me this evening after I tried to work on sitting up with him. He was just a-dancin' and didn't notice my hands weren't really on his waist. Then, he saw the "kennel" (as we call it) behind him and wanted to climb up on it, but I wouldn't let him 'cause it isn't stable moved out of the way like that. So, we had a wall-eyed hissy fit over it. During the fit, I handed Dan the still camera (I left the video cam at the studio) and made him take steps while he was more focused on his fit. It worked! See the video for proof. I think we're gonna' need to get a kiddie leash. :o)
So, Troy was sick all last week and then some due to a sinus and ear infection. He's finally over it, but I think I may have an ear infection now and I know both Dan and I have sinus infections. Yay. Our boy is back to his normal self - laughing and playing.
I started learning how to sew on my new machine Mom & Dad got me for Christmas this weekend. I've sewn Troy a blankie with a satin edging and I just finished some overalls. It's very obvious that I'm new to it, but Ma says I'm doing a really great job and that I'm tackling projects that are fairly difficult. We'll see...
Because I was learning to sew, Troy and I were over at Mom & Dad's all weekend. Dad fixed supper for us and Dan came to join in. Troy was in his high chair and was in quite a mood. The video below started a little late in the game. He was laughing even more hysterically than this before we realized we should grab the video camera.
I also think we may be crawling and sitting ourselves up shortly. He's starting to figure out he is supposed to rear back onto his knees, but then he gets frustrated and throws himself down. But, if he's already sitting up and he leans forward, gets on his hands and knees and DOESN'T fall, he can push himself back and sit up. Keep your fingers crossed.
