Up & Walking: Time for a Leash?

So, two months after his first attempts at walking, Troy is now brave enough to walk on his own with a purpose. Last night, he was standing by my rocking recliner making it rock for me. All of a sudden, we look towards the center of the den and see him on his way to his toy bin! We kept as quiet as we could until he reached his destination. Then, when he came to a careful and gentle stop at the bin, we cheered and hollered. He did it for us several times after that. He could have done this a long time ago, but once he learned to crawl he gave up on caring to walk. Lately, he's been realizing how much faster he can go on foot and that he won't have to pull himself up on something to reach if he's already standing. I guess I'd better fit my tenny shoes on and carry Advil in my pocket, because I know I'm now in for one helluva ride. I'm thinking I should set up a zipline in the den and just tether him to it. :o)

Here's the video we took. He's such a big boy! This first year has gone by so quickly. I can't believe my little man is going to be a year old on the 29th! Wow!

  1. Go T-Bone!!! Isn't it so exciting watching them learn to walk? And he's wearing his Obama-Jama's, too!
